Toshusai Sharaku was a ukiyo-e artist of the late Edo period.He rose to prominence in 1794 with his strikingly original actor portraits and vanished after producing 145 works in just ten months. His notable works include "Otani Oniji III as Edohei" and "Ichikawa Ebizo as Takemura Sadanoshin", known for their exaggerated expressions and distinctive compositions.
